Tips To Help You Cope With Diabetes

 

Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. It is not contagious. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life. The cause of diabetes continues to be a mystery, although both genetics and environmental factors such as obesity and lack of exercise appear to play roles. Diabetes is currently not curable, but it can be kept under control.

In case you are a diabetic, the following suggestions will help
   

First of all, educate yourself about Diabetes. A 4-5 hour class or a few hours on the Internet will suffice. Reduce your own stress about the problem.

 

A tablespoon of Indian Gooseberry (amla) juice mixed with a cup of fresh bitter gourd (karela) juice when taken daily for 2 months helps reduce blood sugar.


   
Take 2-3 cloves of garlic (lahsun) regularly for a few days.

  Chew 8-10 basil (tulsi) leaves in the morning.

     
Dry tender leaves of the mango tree in the shade. Powder and preserve them. Half a teaspoon of this powder twice a day in the morning and evening proves beneficial.

  Eat plenty of vegetables like: Lettuce (salad patta),tomato and fruits. Foods rich in fibre should be preferred. Daily intake of calories should be restricted.

     
All refined foods and sweets should be avoided. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily is recommended.   Morning and evening walk for at least 45 minutes is most essential to control this disease.
